This work presents the clash of formidable forces — between the Masculine and the Feminine, stillness and chaos, spirit and carnal flesh. Yet, it also acknowledges that a deeper understanding of our existence entails accepting the infinite contradictions of the human condition. Paying aesthetic homage to Gustav Klimt’s “Death and Life”, this work emblematises Edwin’s enduring interest in symbolism, history and mythology.
